Odisha government allocates funds for various road projects under Budget 2021-22

The Odisha government has allocated funds for various road projects under the Budget 2021-22. Funds worth Rs 22.96 billion have been allocated for the road development programme, with a physical target for the completion of 30 bridges, two rail-overbridges and 1,000 km of roads. Besides, Rs 6 billion has been allocated under the scheme for the construction/improvement of roads and bridges. Meanwhile, funds worth Rs 2 billion have been set aside for the State Highway Development Project and funds worth Rs 1 billion have been allocated for the Biju Expressway Scheme. Apart from this, Rs 9.12 billion has been allocated under the Biju Setu Yojana and Rs 7.81 billion for the construction/improvement of roads and bridges has been allocated under the budget. Besides, funds worth Rs 3 billion have been allocated for the Mukhya Mantri Sadak Yojana for 416 ongoing road projects and 142 new road projects for the connecting the unconnected areas. Moreover, Rs 20 billion has been allocated under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana to complete 4,000 km of rural roads.
