The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has approved the proposal to develop an international airport in Ayodhya and has sanctioned Rs 2.5 billion for the operation of ATR-72 aircraft in the first phase. The Uttar Pradesh government, which has already allocated Rs 10 billion to the district administration for land acquisition for the airport, has decided to name it Maryada Purushotam Sriram Airport, Ayodhya.
