IR is reportedly launching a non-stop passenger rail service between India and Bangladesh, with effect from March 26, 2021. The service is expected to boost tourism between the two countries, and facilitate their trade and commerce sectors in the future. The train will run twice a week from New Jalpaiguri railway station in northern West Bengal to Dhaka. IR will operate it under a revenue sharing model with Bangladesh.
