IOC to invest Rs 324.96 billion to expand Panipat refinery capacity

The Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) plans to invest Rs 329.46 billion to expand the capacity of its oil refinery at Panipat in Haryana to 25 mtpa, and set up chemical units. The expansion will be completed by September 2024. The Panipat refinery currently has the capacity to turn 15 mtpa of crude oil into value-added fuels such as petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel. Besides expanding the oil refining capacity, the company plans to set up a polypropylene unit and a catalytic dewaxing unit.
