The municipal administration and water supply department of the Tamil Nadu government inaugurated the Kurichi and Kuniamuthur Water Supply Project on February 22, 2021. The project aims to fulfil the water supply needs of Kurichi and Kuniamuthur, as well as, Thudiyalur, Vellakinaru, Vilankurichi, Chinnavedampatti, Saravanampatti and Kalapatti, in Tamil Nadu. It will cater to 40,000 households till 2030. It is being implemented by the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board.
