The government is gearing up to invite financial bids for the sale of Air India by the end of March 2021. The target is to complete the process by the second half of 2021. The shortlisted entities will reportedly be given time till June 2021 and early July 2021 to place their financial bids. It is presumed that once the bids are locked, closing the sale may take three to four months, following the evaluation of the bids. According to reports, after evaluation of the expressions of interest, Air India’s divestment advisers have rejected all bids except for those from Tata Sons and Spicejet.
