Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid) has signed an agreement with Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL) for the utilisation of 500 km of optical ground wire (OPGW) telecom network. This is in addition to Powergrid’s existing 350 km of OPGW laid on HPSEBL’s extra high voltage lines already being used in the state to boost connectivity.
