Indian Railways steadily improves operation of train services amidst Covid-19

In a notable development, Indian Railways is operating a total of 1,138 mail/express trains (including festive express trains) per day in its different zones, despite the challenges caused by the Covid-19 outbreak. A total of 115 pairs of mail/express trains have been approved in the month of January 2021 itself. Further, Indian Railways is operating 4,807 suburban train services per day. During the pre-Covid-19 period, Indian Railways operated 1,768 mail/express trains and an average of 5,881 suburban trains per day.
