Government finalises PLI norms for telecom equipment manufacturing

As per industry sources, the Government of India has finalised the production-linked incentive (PLI) norms for telecom and network equipment manufacturing. Recently, the cabinet has approved a broader PLI scheme worth Rs 122 billion to boost local manufacturing of telecom gear for both domestic market and exports. The scheme will cover the core transmission equipment, 4G/5G and next-generation radio access network and wireless equipment, access and customer premise equipment, IoT access devices, and enterprise equipment such as switches and router.
