DoT mandates prefixing “0” for landline to mobile calls from January 15, 2021

From January 15, 2021, all landline users across the country need to prefix “0” to make outgoing calls to any mobile number. This is in line with a Department of Telecommunications’ (DoT) directive issued in November 2020, which stated that all fixed line-to-mobile calls would have to be dialled with a prefix “0” from January 15, 2021, onwards. However, there would be no change in the dialling plan for fixed-to-fixed, mobile-to-fixed and mobile-to-mobile calls.
