Telangana government urges MoCA to sanction new domestic airports

The Telangana government has urged the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) to sanction new domestic airports at six locations in the state. Of these, three greenfield airports will come up at Bhadradri Kothagudem and Jakaranpally in Nizamabad district and Devarkadra in Mahabubnagar district, and three brownfield airports will be set up in Mamnoor village, Warangal Urban district, Basanthnagar in Peddapally district and Adilabad. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has already undertaken obstacle limitation surface surveys, soil testing and other investigations at the sites. Some draft reports have also been submitted, but the final reports are yet to be given.
