NRL plans to spend Rs 9.49 billion on its capital projects in 2020-21

Assam-based Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) is planning to spend around Rs 9.49 billion in the current financial year on its capital projects. These include a refinery expansion project from the current 3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 9 mtpa. It involves the laying of 2,200 km of crude oil pipeline from Paradip port, Odisha, to Numaligarh in Assam and a product pipeline from Numaligarh to Siliguri in West Bengal and associated facilities such as a crude oil import terminal at Paradip port. NRL is also laying the 130 km transnational Indo Bangla Friendship Pipeline from its marketing terminal at Siliguri to Parbatipur in Bangladesh.
