MoPSW identifies domestic locations and six international routes for ferry services through inland waterways

The MoPSW has identified domestic locations as well as six international routes for connecting four international destinations (Chattogram, Bangladesh; Seychelles, East Africa; Madagascar, East Africa; and Jaffna, Sri Lanka) from Indian major coastal port towns for the commencement of ferry services through inland waterways. The domestic locations include Hazira, Okha, Somnath Temple, Diu, Pipavav, Dahej, Mumbai/JNPT, Jamnagar, Kochi, Ghogha, Goa, Mundra and Mandvi. The development comes in view of the MoPSW’s efforts, through SDCL, to facilitate the operation of roll-on/roll-off, and roll on/roll-off passenger and ferry services on various routes across the country, besides providing the required support to make the project operational.
