Indian major ports handled 477.76 mt during April-December 2020

Indian major ports handled 477.76 million tonnes (mt) of traffic during April-December 2020, as compared to 523.84 mt in the corresponding period of 2019, registering a decline of 8.8 per cent. Deendayal port handled the maximum traffic at 84.37 mt, followed by Paradip port (82.44 mt) and Visakhapatnam port (51.95 mt). The traffic handled at major ports has been severely impacted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In terms of growth, all major ports, except Mormugao port, registered a decline.
