Torrent Gas commissions first CNG station in Tamil Nadu

Torrent Gas Private Limited (TGPL) has commissioned Tamil Nadu’s first compressed natural gas (CNG) station at Nagapattinam. The station is co-located with a retail outlet run by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Porvacheri. TGPL has tied up with GAIL (India) Limited for the supply of CNG through the city gate station located at Thirumarugal. It has also tied up with IOCL for the use of its retail outlets to start more CNG stations. As per TGPL, it is expecting to commission another two CNG stations in a span of four months. Further, it plans to set up a total of 12 CNG stations in Tamil Nadu by March 2022. The price of CNG in Nagapattinam has been fixed at Rs 60 per kg.
