Indian major ports handled 414.3 mt during April-November 2020

During April-November 2020, Indian major ports handled 414.3 million tonnes (mt) of traffic, as compared to 463.05 mt in the corresponding period of 2019, registering a decline of 10.53 per cent. Deendayal port handled the maximum traffic at 73.86 mt, followed by Paradip port (72.24 mt) and Visakhapatnam port (45.23 mt). Traffic handled at the major ports has been severely impacted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In terms of growth, all the major ports registered a decline except for Mormugao port.
