RCF rolls out high-speed double-decker coaches

In a notable development, IR’s coach manufacturing unit, the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, has rolled out a semi high speed double-decker coach that can run at speeds of up to 160 km per hour. The coach will now be sent to the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), Lucknow, for further oscillation trials. Once these coaches receive the necessary approval from the RDSO, they will be deployed on IR’s busiest routes so as to carry more passengers in a single train journey.
