IR installs weather forecast equipment at railway stations

IR has installed automated weather forecast equipment at a number of railway stations. The equipment will provide storm warnings as well as other weather updates to station masters. The meteorological department has installed the automated weather forecast equipment at 19 railway stations of the North Western Railway Zone. The initiative is expected to increase safety as it will enable stationmasters to take precautionary measures against storms and inclement weather.
