Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has signed an agreement with the Goa government to implement decentralised solar power projects in the state. This is the first initiative under the newly formed Convergence Energy Services Limited, a 100 per cent subsidiary of EESL. Under the pact, EESL and the Department of New and Renewable Energy in Goa will carry out feasibility studies and implement decentralised solar energy projects (including the installation of 100 MW of decentralised ground-mounted solar power projects on government land to be used for agricultural pumping), replace 6,300 agricultural pumps and distribute 1.6 million LED bulbs for rural domestic households.
