ADB has approved funds worth Rs 36.8 billion for the implementation of the Bengaluru metro rail project Phase 2A (KR Puram-Silk Board corridor) and Phase 2B (Bengaluru airport corridor) on December 8, 2020. Phase 2A of the Bengaluru metro project involves development of a metro rail network from Krishna Raja Puram to Silk Board in the city at an estimated cost of Rs 59.94 billion. Further, Phase 2B involves the development of a 38 km metro rail system, to connect the Nagawara-Hebbal-Bengaluru Airport stretch at an estimated cost of Rs 105.84 billion.
