Khilari Infra wins contract for construction of STPs for Buddha Nullah rejuvenation project

Khilari Infrastructure Private Limited has won a contract worth Rs 8.4 billion for the construction of sewage treatment plants (STPs) for the Buddha Nullah rejuvenation project. The bids for the project were invited by the Punjab Water Supply and Sewerage Board in December 2019. The scope of work involves construction of STPs, pumping stations and effluent treatment plants for dairy complexes, and rehabilitation of existing STPs and main pumping stations for abatement of pollution in the Buddha Nullah, Ludhiana, including O&M for a period of 10 years. The Buddha Nullah project aims at rejuvenation of the 47.55 km drain which is highly polluted by industrial and domestic waste and will be implemented in two phases. Phase I will involve augmentation and refurbishment of the sewage treatment facility and dairy effluent treatment while Phase II will aim to reuse the treated effluent and undertake beautification along the drain.
