MoP issues amendments to TBCB for procurement of RTC power

The Ministry of Power (MoP) has issued amendments to the guidelines for the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process for procurement of round-the-clock (RTC) power from grid-connected renewable energy projects, complemented by power from coal-based thermal projects. The amendment allows blending of power from any other source or storage into the guidelines, thereby renaming the guidelines – guidelines for the TBCB Process for Procurement of RTC Power from Grid-Connected Renewable Energy Power Projects – complemented with power from any other source or storage. Another key amendment is the shift from composite tariff to weighted average levellised tariff as the bidding parameter.
