ECoR carries its highest freight loading of the year

Reportedly, East Coast Railway (ECoR) carried 16.37 mt of freight in October 2020. This is the highest loading during the current fiscal year and is also higher as compared to loading in the corresponding period of the previous year (15.4 mt). ECoR registered a growth of 6.29 per cent in October 2020 over the same month last year. Freight loading by ECoR during April-October 2020 was 104.88 mt comprising 59.63 mt of coal, 13.38 mt of iron ore, 8.84 mt of iron and steel, 3.98 mt of raw materials for steel plants, 3.61 mt of fertilisers, 1.65 mt of container traffic, 1.43 mt of foodgrains, 1.39 mt of petroleum products and 10.97 mt of other commodities. Fly ash is also being distributed by ECoR and this also boosts freight loading.
