The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has extended the suspension of international flights to and from India till November 30, 2020. However, international all-cargo operations and flights specifically allowed to operate by the aviation regulator, such as repatriation flights, charter flights and flights under the Vande Bharat mission, will continue to operate and international scheduled flights may be allowed on select routes by the competent authority on a case-to-case basis. The DGCA has approved 12,983 weekly domestic flights of airlines for the winter schedule that started on October 25, 2020 and will end on March 27, 2021. SpiceJet and GoAir have received approval for 1,957 and 1,203 weekly domestic flights respectively. In comparison to last year’s winter schedule, this year’s winter schedule has witnessed approvals for only 55.7 per cent of the flights.
