Central government launches indigenous software solution for VTS and VTMS

The central government launched the development of an indigenous software solution for vessel traffic services and vessel traffic monitoring systems on October 20, 2020. The development comes in light of the government’s efforts towards Atmanirbhar Bharat. A prototype system is expected to be developed in a 10 month time frame for testing and to operate as a parallel system until it is robust enough for day-to-day operations.
