The Ministry of Coal has received 78 valid bids for 21 of the 38 coal mines offered in the first auction of blocks for commercial mining at the close of the deadline on September 29, 2020. Reportedly, Hindalco, the Essel Group, the Adani Group, the Vedanta Group, Bharat Aluminium Company Limited, Jindal Steel and Power and the JSW Group have bid for the blocks. The financial bidding began on October 19, 2020 through state-run MSTC Limited’s e-auction platform and will close on November 11, 2020.
