GPPL seeks extension in concession period beyond 2028

Gujarat Pipavav Port Limited (GPPL) has sought an extension in its concession period beyond 2028 from the Gujarat government for carrying out the expansion and modernisation of Pipavav port. GPPL has the exclusive right to develop and operate APM Terminals Pipavav and related facilities until September 2028, as per the concession agreement signed with the Gujarat Maritime Board and the state government.

The Indian Ports Association (IPA) has become the latest member of the International Port Community Systems Association (IPCSA). Going forward, the IPA is expected to align the port community system, PCS1x, to the 2030 vision of the IPCSA. Currently, all the major ports have fully implemented PCS1x with over 16,000 users transacting on it. Moreover, the private ports of Mundra, Pipavav, Hazira, Kattupalli and Dahej have also commenced the adoption of PCS1x.
