The timeline for the completion of BharatNet, Phase II, will now be extended as its pace of implementation has been affected by the lockdown and restrictions on movement imposed amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The announcement was made by the minister of state for communications in the Rajya Sabha. Earlier, the project was envisaged to be completed by August 2021.
