APSEZL issues additional guidelines to ensure compliance with IMO regulations

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZL) has issued additional guidelines for ships calling at its ports to ensure compliance with Annexure VI of the International Maritime Organization’s International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) treaty. As per Annexure VI of the MARPOL treaty, carrying non-compliant fuel oil for combustion purposes, for propulsion or operation on board a ship unless the vessel is equipped with an exhaust gas cleaning system (scrubber) is prohibited. All the vessels calling at APSEZL’s ports have been advised to ensure strict compliance with the guidelines.
