The Delhi-Vadodara section of the proposed Delhi-Mumbai expressway is being implemented by NHAI in 31 packages under the BharatmalaPariyojana. The project involves the construction of an eight-lane greenfield expressway on NH-148N in Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. As of August 5, 2020, 28 packages have been awarded under the project, while the remaining three are under bidding. Besides, construction work has already commenced on 13 packages. Once completed, the expressway is expected to have a traffic flow rate of about 35,000 passenger car units. The expressway is expected to significantly reduce logistics costs between Delhi and Mumbai.
