The upcoming Ganga Expressway is one of the most ambitious expressway projects of the Uttar Pradesh government aimed at enhancing the connectivity between the rural and urban areas of the state. The districts to benefit from the expressway include Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rai Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. The project will be funded by a combination of debt and equity. Currently, UPEIDA is in the process of preparing the DPR, which will be put before the cabinet for approval. The state government has allocated Rs 20 billion for the construction of the expressway in its budget for 2020-21. Besides, it has decided to raise Rs 29 billion from the Housing and Urban Development Corporation to fund land acquisition for the project. W
