As per the original plan, Phase IV was proposed to have six corridors. Three priority corridors spanning 61.68 km have received the centre’s approval. The Rithala-Bawana-Narela corridor will now be developed as a metrolite corridor. The remaining two corridors are yet to be approved by the centre. The three priority corridors are expected to provide interconnectivity among the already operational sections of the Delhi metro. Of this, 22.36 km will be underground. Despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the construction work on all three priority corridors of the Delhi metro’s Phase IV project has gained pace.
