CONCOR shuts 15 under-performing terminals

Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) has shut 15 underperforming inland cargo terminals and has handed over the land on which they were operating to Indian Railways (IR). One of the terminals that has been shut is the Sabarmati terminal. It registered the maximum turnover of Rs 514 million during 2018-19, the highest among the 15 terminals. The land on which the Sabarmati terminal used to operate will be used for the development of the National High Speed Rail Corridor Project (Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project). The traffic handled at the terminal will be shifted to the multimodal logistics park at Khodiyar.
