Telcos asked to provide a roadmap for clearing AGR dues in staggered manner

The Supreme Court has directed telecom companies to provide a payment roadmap for clearing their adjusted gross revenue (AGR)-related dues, in case the staggered payment option is granted. The move comes after telecom companies’ request for allowing them to pay their dues over a period of time as paying the amount upfront will lead to a severe financial crisis. The apex court has asked telcos to furnish details regarding the period required to repay, timeline of payment, and security that they can provide to guarantee the payment will be made.
