During 2019-20, the Indian major ports handled 704.82 million tonnes (mt) of traffic, as compared to 699.1 mt during 2018-19, registering an increase of 0.82 per cent. Deendayal port handled the maximum traffic at 122.5 mt, followed by Paradip port (112.69 mt) and Visakhapatnam port (72.72 mt). In terms of growth, Visakhapatnam port reported the maximum increase (11.36 per cent), followed by Cochin (6.3 mt) and Deendayal (6.15 per cent).
