IR sets target to make 1,000 PPEs per day across 17 workshops

IR targets manufacture of 1,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) per day such as overalls for doctors and paramedics after the samples made by Northern Railway were tested and approved by the Defence Research and Development Organisation. The PPE will offer the much-needed protection to railway doctors working on the front line at railway hospitals. IR will deploy 17 of its workshops to begin production of the equipment. There are also plans to supply 50 per cent of the PPEs to medical professionals across the country.
