IndiGrid approves acquisition of Gurgaon Palwal transmission project

 

IndiGrid has approved a proposal to acquire Gurgaon Palwal Transmission Limited (GPTL), valued at Rs 10.8 billion, from Sterlite Power Transmission Limited. The acquisition will increase the assets under IndiGrid’s management by 10 per cent to $1.75 billion. GPTL is part of the interstate transmission system network and consists of three gas-insulated switchgear substations with a total transformation capacity of 3,000 MVA and 270 ckt. km of 400 kV transmission lines spread across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan. IndiGrid signed a framework agreement in April 2019 with Sterlite Power for the acquisition of GPTL. Post this acquisition, IndiGrid’s portfolio will increase to 10 power transmission projects with a total network of 25 power transmission lines and 7 substations that span more than 6,080 ckt. km and 10,735 MVA across 15 states.
