Post the decline in the domestic natural gas price (by 26 per cent) in the six-monthly revision announced on April 1, 2020, key city gas distribution operators such as Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) and Adani Gas Limited (AGL) reduced the prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) and piped cooking gas. IGL has cut the CNG rate by Rs 3.20 per kg and that of piped gas for home use by Rs 1.55 per standard cubic metre (scm) in Delhi. Consumer prices of piped natural gas (PNG) supplied to households in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad have been decreased by Rs 1.65 per scm. AGL, which retails CNG to automobiles in some districts of Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, cut CNG rates by between Rs 1.50 per kg and Rs 3.60 per kg. The operator has reduced the PNG price in Haryana and Gujarat by Re 1 per scm to Rs 29.84 per scm and Rs 29.09 per scm respectively.
