DoT relaxes time for self-certification of mobile tower radiation norms

The government has relaxed the time frame for self-certification of radiation norms for the installation of new mobile towers and upgradation of existing cell sites. The move has been made in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. To this end, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has allowed service providers to self-certify compliance in 30 days after commissioning of new mobile towers or upgrading of existing units.
