CCEA approves introduction of RoDTEP

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has given its approval for the introduction of the Scheme for Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products. The scheme has been introduced to give a boost to domestic industry and exports and provide a level playing field for Indian producers. Under the scheme, a mechanism will be created for reimbursement of taxes/duties/levies at the central, state and local levels that are currently not being refunded under any mechanism. In addition, an inter-ministerial committee will be constituted to determine the rates at and items for which the reimbursement of taxes and duties would be provided.
