Power minister dedicates 11 REMCs to nation

The power minister has dedicated 11 renewable energy management centres (REMCs) to the country. Set up under the Green Energy Corridors programme, the REMCs equipped with artificial intelligence-based forecasting and scheduling tools will provide greater visualisation to grid operators to manage renewable energy integration. The REMCs are co-located with state load despatchcentres (SLDCs) in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan; in regional load despatchcentres at Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi; and at the National Load Despatch Centre. Presently, 55 GW of solar and wind power capacity is being monitored through the 11 REMCs, which are being managed by Power System Operation Corporation of India Limited at the regional and national levels and by SLDCs at the state level.
