NTPC commissions new units at Darlipalli and Barauni TPPs

NTPC Limited has commissioned the 800 MW Unit 1 of the Darlipalli super thermal power station, Stage I (2×800 MW) in Odisha and the 250 MW unit of the Barauni thermal power station, Stage II (2×250 MW) in Bihar. With this, the commercial capacity of NTPC and the NTPC Group has reached 49,695 MW and 58,156 MW respectively. The company has also met its annual capacity addition target of 5,290 MW for 2019-20. Apart from the Darlipalli and Barauni thermal power plants (TPPs), NTPC has commissioned coal-based units at the Gadarwara (800 MW), Lara (800 MW), Tanda (660 MW), Khargone (660 MW), Meja (660 MW) and Nabinagar (660 MW) TPPs during the year.
