According to India Ratings and Research, Indian Railways (IR) has increased its modal share of freight through various tariff rationalisation initiatives. The freight loaded by IR during November 2020 stood at 109.68 mt, around 9 per cent higher than the loading in November 2019. The average wagon loading per day during November 2020 was 58,726 wagons, a 4.6 per cent increase over the preceding month. IR also registered a 15 per cent year-on-year growth in freight loading in the months of September 2020 and October 2020.
