NEC Technologies win biometric-based boarding platform contract for four airports

NEC Technologies India, a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation, has bagged a contract from AAI to implement a biometric-based boarding platform across four airports in India. These are the Lal Bahadur Shastri airport (Varanasi), the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose airport (Kolkata), Pune airport and Vijayawada airport. The system will be operationalised at these airports by the end of 2020. In addition to the delivery of a biometric-based boarding platform, which includes facial recognition systems, kiosk terminals and biometric-enabled e-gates, NEC will oversee the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the platform for the next seven years.
