National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited to submit reports for six more high speed rail corridors

National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited is likely to submit detailed project reports (DPRs) to the Railway Board for six high speed rail corridor projects soon. The estimated cost for preparing the DPR for each corridor is expected to be about Rs 70 million. These are the Mumbai-Nashik-Nagpur (753 km), Mumbai-Pune-Hyderabad (711 km), Delhi-Noida-Agra-Kanpur-Lucknow-Varanasi (865 km), Delhi-Jaipur-Udaipur-Ahmedabad (886 km), Chennai-Bengaluru-Mysore (435 km) and Delhi-Chandigarh-Ludhiana-Jalandhar-Amritsar (459 km) corridors. The new network is aimed at creating a diamond quadrilateral which will connect major cities and economic centres of the country.
