The MoP has invited bids from companies for setting up transmission infrastructure to evacuate power from renewable energy projects aggregating 2,500 MW in Tamil Nadu and 2,000 MW in Gujarat. In Tamil Nadu, the transmission system is to be set up in the Karur-Tiruppur wind energy zone and in Gujarat, the transmission project will provide connectivity to green energy projects in Lakadia. The developers will be selected on the basis of tariff-based competitive bidding.
