As of November 30, 2019, the Indian shipping industry had a fleet of 1,425 vessels of 12.71 million gross tonnage (GT) and 19.32 million (DWT). Of the total vessels, 972 were coastal vessels with a tonnage of 1.5 million GT (1.66 million DWT) and 453 overseas vessels of 11.21 million GT (17.65 million DWT).
