Foundation stone laid for 24*7 WSS in Shimla

The Himachal Pradesh government laid the foundation stone for the 24×7 continuous pressurised water supply scheme (WSS) in Shimla under the Greater Shimla Water Supply and Sewerage Project on January 1, 2020. The scope of work includes implementation of a 67 million litre per day (mld) bulk WSS on the Sutlej river, improvement of water distribution, extension of the sewerage network and rehabilitation and capacity addition of sewage treatment plants (STPs). The project is being implemented by Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited and the Shimla Municipal Corporation on a design-build-operate basis.
