The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved the proposal for obtaining funds worth Rs 70 billion from a Bank of Baroda-led consortium for the Bundelkhand six-lane expressway project. Currently, about 96 per cent of the total 3,642 hectares of land has been acquired. The project involves construction of a 293 km six-lane expressway from the T-junction of Chitrakoot at Jhansi-Allahabad on National Highway (NH)-35/76 (chainage 266 km) and Bharat Koop to the Etawah-Bewar road on NH-91 on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway near Kudrail village of Etawah district, at an estimated cost Rs 99.21 billion. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority is implementing the project on an EPC basis.
