Penalty worth Rs 32 million imposed on telcos for call drops

As per data shared by the communications ministry, a penalty of around Rs 32 million has been imposed on telecom operators for call drops between September 2018 and June 2019. A penalty of Rs 17.6 million has been imposed on Vodafone Idea – Rs 11.1 million on account of call drops on Vodafone’s network and Rs 6.5 million on Idea’s network. Further, a Rs 0.65 million penalty was levied on Reliance Jio. In addition, a financial disincentive of Rs 4.75 million has been imposed on Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Rs 5.6 million on Tata Teleservices and Rs 3.4 million on Bharti Airtel.
